Wright State University President David R. Hopkins is one of 18 administrators who serve on the NCAA Division I Board of Directors\u2014the most powerful governing body in Division I\u2014and one of just seven in the presidential advisory group.<\/p>\n

During the August 8 meeting in Indianapolis, Ind., the board spent several hours discussing NCAA decision-making structures and their legislative processes.<\/p>\n

Among several members interviewed, Hopkins shared his thoughts about the national perceptions and misconceptions of student athletes.<\/p>\n

When he was first elected to the board in 2011, Hopkins said his areas of interest include student athletes who spend only one year in college before attempting to move on to the pros, the questions about a football playoff and gender equity in intercollegiate athletics<\/p>\n
