The citation is the highest award presented in the Sports Stadiums\/Athletic Facilities category.<\/p>\n<p>The Rinzler complex was one of 145 projects featured in the portfolio and the November issue of <em><a href=\"http:\/\/schooldesigns.com\/Project-Details.aspx?Project_ID=4634\" target=\"_blank\">American School and University<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The jury described the complex as having a \u201cvery innovative and sensitively integrated approach to function and entry into campus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Opened in the 2012 Spring Semester, the Rinzler Student Sports Complex was designed as a hub for Raider athletics and all other students through Campus Recreation. With a prominent sign tower, the new facility also welcomes visitors as they enter the northeast corner of campus.<\/p>\n<p>The complex includes a support building with restrooms, team rooms and concessions. A sleek observation ramp provides an easy, accessible perch to watch events and games.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_26266\" style=\"width: 270px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2013\/12\/13\/rinzler-student-sports-complex-honored-by-architecture-magazine\/9705-wendy-riddell-admissions-photos-of-rinzler-complex-the-quad-physicians-building-and-founders-rock-9-28-12-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26266\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26266\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-26266\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2013\/12\/9705-188-260x143.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"143\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-26266\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Over the last two seasons, the Rinzler Sports Complex hosted women\u2019s and men\u2019s soccer games; intramural sports; club athletics; extramural events; Army ROTC training; and kinesiology and health classes.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The facility also contains the varsity soccer field and Mulhollan Field, the student recreation field named after the late Wright State President Paige Mulhollan. Both fields feature new synthetic turf.<\/p>\n<p>Over the last two seasons, the varsity soccer field hosted 30 women\u2019s and men\u2019s soccer games, which attracted a total of 12,716 spectators.<\/p>\n<p>Mulhollan Field had hosted the intramural sports of flag football and soccer; numerous club athletics games and practices, including football, soccer, rugby, Ultimate Frisbee; local and regional extramural events; Army ROTC training; and kinesiology and health classes.
