A public gallery talk will be held Sunday, Jan. 19, from 3 to 4 p.m., followed by a reception until 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition includes video and photography by Dayton native Miguel Arzabe, now of New Mexico, paintings by Ben Gardner of Iowa and Nina Rizzo of Illinois, and paintings and works on paper by Amy Sacksteder of Michigan.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_26780\" style=\"width: 270px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2014\/01\/14\/visual-artists-reimagine-the-landscape-in-stein-galleries-new-exhibition\/sacksteder_thrown_stones\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26780\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26780\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-26780\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2014\/01\/Sacksteder_thrown_stones-260x196.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"196\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-26780\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Thrown Stones&#8221; by Amy Sacksteder<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Danielle Rante, assistant professor of art and art history at Wright State, curated the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBenjamin Gardner and Amy Sacksteder piece together visual and emotive qualities of the landscape to reveal unseen connections and interworkings on a personal or spiritual level,\u201d Rante said. \u201cThey disregard common inherit qualities of the landscape such as perspective and horizon lines and instead focus on experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe video work of Miquel Arzabe relies almost entirely on the horizon as a constant to the shifting objects,\u201d Rante added. \u201cNina Rizzo\u2019s tabletop landscapes of sushi alongside celestial bodies and icebergs each evoke the horizon on grand and intimate ways.\u201d<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_26781\" style=\"width: 270px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2014\/01\/14\/visual-artists-reimagine-the-landscape-in-stein-galleries-new-exhibition\/rizzo_iceberg\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-26781\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26781\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-26781\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2014\/01\/Rizzo_Iceberg-260x256.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"256\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-26781\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">&#8220;Iceberg&#8221; by Nina Rizzo<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The exhibition is made possible with support by the Ohio Arts Council, the Friends and Members of the Galleries and the College of Liberal Arts.<\/p>\n<p>Gallery hours are Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. All galleries events are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>All visitor parking areas on campus are free, and parking at the Creative Arts Center is unrestricted after 4:30 p.m. Fridays and weekends.
