Wright State University senior dance majors Alexis Evans-Krueger and Abby Leithart will perform with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC) for two shows this weekend in the ReVisioning 45: New Works Unveiled<\/em> concert.<\/p>\n

Performances will be Saturday, Feb. 8, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 9, at 3 p.m. at the Victoria Theatre, 138 North Main Street in Dayton.<\/p>\n

Evans-Krueger and Leithart had been performing with DCDC2 but will join the featured company for this special concert.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are so happy to have Alexis and Abby on stage. They are fantastic,\u201d said DCDC Executive administrator Donnell Jones. “They should (and do!) make Wright State proud. They certainly make the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company proud.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the most important performances of the current season, ReVisioning 45: New Works Unveiled<\/em> holds special significance because the company will premier an ambitious selection of new dance works by master world-class choreographers, returning to the historic and elegant Victoria Theatre and the company is celebrating its 45th season.<\/p>\n

This concert will present three world premieres of new work by internationally renowned master choreographers Donald Byrd, Ronen Koresh, and Ray Mercer, as well as a solo piece developed by Rodney A. Brown. Byrd is recently known for his Tony-nominated choreography on Broadway\u2019s The Color Purple<\/em>. Mercer is synonymous with the hit Broadway show The Lion King<\/em>, and Israeli-born Koresh, gives the company a new, international flavor. Brown’s work was created specifically for dancer Sheri “Sparkle” Williams and is being presented in honor of her being named the 2014 Individual Artist award-winner by the Ohio Governor’s Awards for the arts.<\/p>\n
