{"id":28757,"date":"2014-03-18T08:54:49","date_gmt":"2014-03-18T12:54:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=28757"},"modified":"2014-03-18T09:03:32","modified_gmt":"2014-03-18T13:03:32","slug":"women-to-face-kentucky-in-ncaa-opening-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2014\/03\/18\/women-to-face-kentucky-in-ncaa-opening-round\/","title":{"rendered":"Women&#8217;s basketball team to face Kentucky in NCAA opening round"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_28760\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2014\/03\/18\/women-to-face-kentucky-in-ncaa-opening-round\/womensb-ballfrickersdeck\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28760\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-28760\" class=\"size-large wp-image-28760\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2014\/03\/Womensb-ballFrickersDeck-508x338.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"306\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-28760\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">It was a media frenzy at the Fricker&#039;s Deck at the Nutter Center Monday, March 17, when the women&#039;s basketball team learned it would face the University of Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Wright State women&#8217;s basketball team will face Kentucky in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, March 22, at Memorial Coliseum on the UK campus in Lexington.<\/p>\n<p>The game between the Raiders and Wildcats will be televised live at 11 a.m. on ESPN2 with Marc Kestcher on play-by-play and Brooke Weisbrod, who worked Wright State&#8217;s Horizon League Championship game Sunday in Green Bay, providing analysis.<\/p>\n<p>Chattanooga and Syracuse will follow at approximately 1:30 p.m. The winning teams will play a second-round game on Monday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m. for the right to advance to the Notre Dame Regional.<\/p>\n<p>Wright State (26\u20138) is the #14 seed in the region. Kentucky, a #3 seed, enters as an at-large selection with a 24\u20138 mark.<\/p>\n<p>Syracuse is the region\u2019s #6 seed, receiving an at-large bid while posting a 22\u20139 record. Eleventh seed Chattanooga is 29\u20133 this season and has won 25 in a row while sweeping the Southern Conference regular season and tournament.<\/p>\n<p>All-session tickets are available at a cost of $36 for adults and $24 for youth (birth through age 18) and senior citizens (age 65 and older). Single session tickets for Saturday\u2019s games or Monday\u2019s game are $22 for adults and $15 for youth\/seniors. Single-session tickets also are available for groups of 10 or more at a cost of $8 each.
