{"id":28959,"date":"2014-03-31T08:59:26","date_gmt":"2014-03-31T12:59:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=28959"},"modified":"2022-09-26T11:14:28","modified_gmt":"2022-09-26T15:14:28","slug":"stage-set-for-annual-artsgala","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2014\/03\/31\/stage-set-for-annual-artsgala\/","title":{"rendered":"Stage set for annual ArtsGala"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The annual Wright State University <em>Arts<\/em>Gala, which has raised more than $1.6 million for arts scholarships during its 14-year history, is set for Saturday, April 12, with an impressive program featuring student performances in theatre, dance, motion pictures, music and visual arts.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2013\/04\/09\/record-high-attendance-for-2013-artsgala\/10416-0832\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-20624\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-20624\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2013\/04\/10416-0832-260x173.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"173\" \/><\/a>The event will showcase the efforts of Wright State fine and performing arts students and educators who have been recognized for their achievement by Academy Award\u2013winning actor and Wright State supporter Tom Hanks in a series of commercials that ran in the Dayton area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWright State is training the artists of tomorrow. I know because I\u2019ve worked with some of Wright State\u2019s alumni, and they\u2019re among the best in their fields,\u201d said Hanks in the commercial. \u201cWright State not only has one of the most outstanding arts programs in Ohio, but one of the best in the entire nation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2013\/04\/09\/record-high-attendance-for-2013-artsgala\/10416-1066\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-20626\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-20626\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2013\/04\/10416-1066-210x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"210\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>The 6:30 p.m. to midnight event in the Creative Arts Center is presented by the College of Liberal Arts.
