Graduating fine art students have endured years of rigorous creative training. As their education draws to a close at Wright State University, they will show the world what they have accomplished and created.<\/p>\n

Over the coming weeks, Wright State\u2019s Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries will host the annual Fine Art Senior Thesis Exhibition. The show includes more than 100 selected works in mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and photography.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is now on display through May 4 and is open during normal gallery hours: Wednesdays and Fridays, 10 a.m.\u20134 p.m.; Thursdays, 10 a.m.\u20137 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays, noon\u20134 p.m.<\/p>\n

The gallery, located in the Creative Arts Center, will host a closing reception for the Senior Thesis Exhibition at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe overall quality of the Senior Thesis Exhibition is quite high and Wright State can be proud of that fact,\u201d said Glen Cebulash, professor and chair of the Department of Art and Art History. \u201cIt is an opportunity for the seniors to take stock of their accomplishments and to display a body of work that represents their development as artists to this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

Participation in the exhibition is a requirement for studio art majors to graduate. Each student submits a number of creative pieces that best represents their development as an artist. A committee of fine art faculty members then decides which pieces should be in the exhibit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe students have worked hard and it shows,\u201d said Cebulash. \u201cI’m excited about the exhibition, as I am every year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tess Cortes, the Robert and Elaine Stein Galleries coordinator, said this is the first time some students have showcased their work.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll students are required to make their work presentable for exhibition, so many are learning how to frame and solve display issues specific to their artwork,\u201d said Cortes. \u201cAlso, they are learning aspects of participating on committees and working with others toward a common goal.\u201d<\/p>\n
