The International Friendship Affair is the biggest annual multicultural event on Wright State University's campus.<\/p><\/div>\n

The International Friendship Affair, the biggest annual multicultural event on Wright State University’s campus, will be held April 16 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. in the Student Union Apollo Room. Presented by the University Center for International Education (UCIE), the festival is an opportunity for Wright State to celebrate its relationship with Dayton’s diverse international community.<\/p>\n

This year’s theme is “Diversity of Music.” International students will demonstrate distinctive musical traditions from around the world. Many student and community cultural groups will perform, including Indian student dancers, a Caribbean music group and the Miami Valley Folk Dancers.<\/p>\n

“Music transcends national boundaries and connects humanity in a unique and powerful way,” said Michelle Streeter-Ferrari, director of the UCIE and program administrator for the Dayton Council on World Affairs. “We hope that the campus and community can join us in celebrating the diversity of our 600 international students.”<\/p>\n

The event is presented by the University Center for International Education.<\/p><\/div>\n

The program will begin with the international flag parade and will also feature an international fashion show. Throughout the event, attendees can visit cultural booths and try Lebanese, Indian and Thai cuisine. During the event, the UCIE will present the Global Citizen and International Student Advocate awards.<\/p>\n
