{"id":39542,"date":"2016-01-19T09:14:48","date_gmt":"2016-01-19T14:14:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=39542"},"modified":"2021-07-09T16:39:12","modified_gmt":"2021-07-09T20:39:12","slug":"kim-demmings-becomes-wright-state-scoring-leader-in-win-at-oakland","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2016\/01\/19\/kim-demmings-becomes-wright-state-scoring-leader-in-win-at-oakland\/","title":{"rendered":"Kim Demmings becomes Wright State scoring leader in win at Oakland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Kim Demmings became Wright State&#8217;s all-time scoring leader as the women&#8217;s basketball team rallied in the fourth quarter for a 77-72 Horizon League win at Oakland Jan. 16.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Demmings gave Wright State a 6-3 lead at the 7:50 mark of the first quarter and, in the process, scored her 2,305 career point, passing Bill Edwards (2,303 points from 1989-93) to become the university&#8217;s all-time leading scoring.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">The scoring milestone helped Demmings earn the Horizon League Player of the Week. It&#8217;s the third time she has received the honor this season.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\"><span class=\"s1\">She is just 20 points away from tying Milwaukee&#8217;s Traci Edwards (2,340 points from 2005-09) as the Horizon League&#8217;s all-time scorer in women&#8217;s basketball.
