The exhibit and lecture are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2016\/01\/20\/holocaust-and-other-genocides-focus-of-exhibit-at-wright-state\/rebellion-of-hope\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-39587\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-39587\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2016\/01\/rebellion-of-hope-260x204.jpg\" alt=\"Holocaust and other genocides focus of exhibit at Wright State\" width=\"260\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a>The exhibit seeks to challenge participants\u2019 thoughts and actions through stories of individuals who resisted horrendous actions in the face of many moral dilemmas and how it applies to lives today.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately genocide continues to be a problem around the world,\u201d said Kimberly Barrett, vice president for Multicultural Affairs and Community Engagement. \u201cHelping people understand the social dynamics that allow this type of tragedy to occur makes it more likely that it can be prevented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe exhibition deals specifically with the stories of the rebellion against the Nazis and human evil \u2014 with specific focus on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising,\u201d said Ari Levy, an Israeli educator. \u201cThe title of the exhibition refers to the hope that the spirit of rebellion can spark \u2014 towards the creation of a better world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The dialogue between the educators and participants is the main communication.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGenocides have continued to take place since the Holocaust and many of the fundamental principles that allowed the Holocaust to take place (i.e., survival of the fittest) continue to underlie our society today,\u201d said Levy. \u201cThe human encounter with modernity continues to be a struggle in Western society as well as throughout the world. Looking at the Holocaust is necessary for us to ask ourselves how to deal with that continued struggle.
