{"id":4032,"date":"2011-04-21T12:30:02","date_gmt":"2011-04-21T16:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=4032"},"modified":"2011-04-22T08:53:45","modified_gmt":"2011-04-22T12:53:45","slug":"earth-day-every-day-this-week-at-wright-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2011\/04\/21\/earth-day-every-day-this-week-at-wright-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Earth Day every day this week at Wright State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-4076\" href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2011\/04\/21\/earth-day-every-day-this-week-at-wright-state\/earthdayfornewsroom\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4076\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2011\/04\/earthdayfornewsroom-260x204.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"204\" \/><\/a>Earth Day may be Friday, April 22, but environmentally minded students, faculty and staff at Wright State University will begin celebrating early.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s really a bunch of stuff going on and it\u2019s both heartening and encouraging,\u201d said Linda Ramey, Ph.D., environmental science education.<\/p>\n<p>Ramey says interest in Earth Day, and the environmentally friendly lifestyle choices that come with it, have been building momentum on campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThree years ago, there were a couple of things but I don\u2019t think there was as much emphasis in the getting the word out,\u201d said Ramey.<\/p>\n<p>Many of this year\u2019s activities will involve physically getting out of the classroom or office and interacting with nature on campus.<\/p>\n<p>Activities include:<\/p>\n<p>Monday, April 18, Noon\u2014Walk in the Wright State Woods to look for spring wildflowers and check out the bird blind.\u00a0 Meet at the Earth Day flag where Loop Road intersects with University Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday, April 19, 12:30 p.m.\u2014Bring your lunch and join us for an Earth Day video clip and walk to the garden area with the Wright State Environmental Action Group (EAG). To participate, meet at 382 Allyn Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, April 20, 9:00 a.m.\u2014Walk in the Wright State Woods to look for spring wildflowers and check out the bird blind.
