Under Hopkins, the school has pushed to change from &#8220;commuter school&#8221; to an economic driver that is more entrepreneurial and more interactive with businesses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"content__segment\">\u201cMost of my time involved with Wright State dealt with Dr. Hopkins,\u201d said Vishal Soin, a local CEO who served on Wright State&#8217;s board from 2006 to 2015, including as its chair. \u201cMy job as chair was a lot easier because we had a guy like David at the helm.
