{"id":41551,"date":"2016-06-28T09:02:03","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T13:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=41551"},"modified":"2020-01-06T10:22:59","modified_gmt":"2020-01-06T15:22:59","slug":"fit-for-a-king-perci-pietro","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2016\/06\/28\/fit-for-a-king-perci-pietro\/","title":{"rendered":"Fit for a king:  Perci Pietro"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_41553\" style=\"width: 251px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2016\/06\/28\/fit-for-a-king\/perci-pietro-red-background-2-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-41553\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-41553\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-41553\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2016\/06\/Perci-Pietro-Red-Background-2-2-241x300.jpg\" alt=\"Perci Pi\u00e9tro '96\" width=\"241\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-41553\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Perci Pi\u00e9tro &#8217;96<\/p><\/div>\n<p>He has royal blood, is a king of real estate and is a Wright State alumnus.<\/p>\n<p>Perci Pi\u00e9tro (Prince Percia Pi\u00e9trolungo), who graduated from Wright State University in 1996 with a <a href=\"http:\/\/science-math.wright.edu\/biology\">bachelor\u2019s degree in biology<\/a>, founded the Miami, Florida-based firm OWN Realty and OWN Financial, of which he is Chairman and CEO.<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e9tro is also a direct descendent of the Qajar Dynasty, which ruled Persia (now Iran) from 1785 to 1925.<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e9tro, who is fluent in English, Spanish and Farsi, was born after his mother Dr. Shakoori moved from Iran to become a surgeon in the United States. He grew up in New York City and went to prep school in Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e9tro\u2019s family left New York after his parents took jobs at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. They then moved to Ohio, home of the Cleveland Clinic, where his neurologist father Dr. Rafecas has a large neurosurgery and neuroscience practice.<\/p>\n<p>After graduating from high school in Akron, Pi\u00e9tro enrolled at Wright State. He was attracted to the school because it was close to home and had a good medical program, since he had planned to follow in his parents\u2019 footsteps at the time. He also remembers taking a geology class through Wright State on San Salvador Island in the Bahamas, an adventure he called a \u201cgreat experience.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e9tro went on to obtain his master\u2019s degree in business administration \u2014 specializing in international management \u2014 from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida, in 2003.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI always had a business mind and only originally studied medicine because I grew up around it, doing volunteer work at various hospitals and being exposed to medicine through family and friends,\u201d he said. \u201cHowever, it wasn\u2019t until I moved to Florida after college and opened a few businesses that I really developed an appreciation for being an entrepreneur.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e9tro opened a nightclub\/lounge called the W6 in South Beach, Miami, with two other New Yorkers. The establishment had the feel of a Manhattan bar, was one of the few upscale lounges in Miami at the time and had regular celebrity guests.<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e9tro then jumped into real estate.<\/p>\n<p>He founded OWN, which stands for One World Network.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.proofpoint.com\/v2\/url?u=http-3A__www.oneworldnetwork.com_&amp;d=CwMFAw&amp;c=3buyMx9JlH1z22L_G5pM28wz_Ru6WjhVHwo-vpeS0Gk&amp;r=PxYJxBDPH13t7cYKPelsgMD4LqTCCz9R9fVsvR6mJxI&amp;m=fG22aaODApDjtcuuihO9Piw31p_aMy-PPilV-a91p_A&amp;s=xKupBk5CFaithj5mqyHJiPnNpVFHnxbCV4ABJUvVhxM&amp;e=\">www.oneworldnetwork.com<\/a> It is a full service, luxury, international brokerage that assists clients with residential and commercial sales and leasing, business sales, mergers and acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>The firm is known for bringing industry brokerage brands from around the world under one umbrella for collaboration in business despite varying customs. Company associates\u00a0 provide clientele with a concierge style experience in assisting with all of their needs in such areas as legal and title, financing, architectural and interior design, renovation as well as schooling and utilities.<\/p>\n<p>With his personal clients, Pi\u00e9tro enjoys collaborating with dignitaries, diplomats and business leaders on a global level, which enables him to pursue his passion of international travel and interaction with people from diverse cultures. Coming from an aristocratic background affords Pi\u00e9tro the ability to understand the needs of these unique types of clients from their perspective in providing service and discretion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is never a typical day,\u201d said Pi\u00e9tro. \u201cOne day I might have meetings at the office with company associates or clients, while other days I will hop on a plane to a meeting at 7 a.m. and return that same day late in the evening.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At the end of a long day, Pi\u00e9tro likes to decompress by running or going to the steam room and sauna.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnything to relax after intense situations; I find that it is always important to stay in balance,\u201d he said. \u201cThat goes for business, relationships and life in general. If not, everything falls apart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pi\u00e9tro advises students to set their vision and goals, follow their instincts and stop at nothing until they achieve their dreams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost importantly, never listen to the naysayers,\u201d he said. \u201cThey may not only be your competition or enemies, but also your best friends, family or even your inner self.
