The session is free and open to the public.

The speaker is Paul Hershberger, Ph.D., a clinical health psychologist. He is a professor of family medicine and director of behavioral science for the Family Medicine Residency Program at the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. His clinical practice includes psychotherapy, consultation and coaching.

Hershberger will lead a discussion about self-control, an important resource associated with success in many life endeavors. He will talk about how self-control is a limited resource. It can be depleted, replenished and strengthened. Because most of human behavior is automatic, automaticity and self-control can be used to promote health.

This session is part of the “Brain Matters” educational series, which focuses on building resilience with attention given to factors regarding sleep, exercise, diet, anger management and healthy relationships.

Videos of past sessions may be viewed at wrightstatephysicians.org/fm/brain-matters.

To register for the session, go to http://bit.ly/28Q0VMw or contact Elizabeth McCarter at elizabeth.mccarter@wspi.org or 937-245-7213.

Wright State Physicians Inc. includes more than 160 physicians affiliated with the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.
