The event is co-sponsored by the Boonshoft School of Medicine, the Jewish Federation of Greater Dayton and Partnership2Gether of Western Galilee Central Area Consortium.<\/p>\n<p>Arie Eisenman, M.D., is the head of internal medicine in the emergency department of Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, Israel, which is six miles from Israel\u2019s border with Lebanon and 30 miles from the Syrian border. Eisenman and his staff have provided medical care to more than 2,000 Syrians, who have been injured in the Syrian civil war, even though Syria considers Israel its enemy. The hospital has been recognized for representing the highest ethical principles and humane values for providing aid to the wounded Syrians. About one-third of the Syrians they have treated are women and children under the age of 18.<\/p>\n<p>The Wright State University Medicine and the Holocaust Community Seminar series is an outgrowth of the Medicine and the Holocaust course for fourth-year students at the Boonshoft School of Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>The event is free and open to the public.
