From the crack of a plastic wiffle ball bat, to the swoosh of a ball going through a basketball net, to the roar of a crowd cheering after a soccer goal, you could hear the excitement inside the new Eichelberger Community Activity Room at United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton.<\/p>\n
A dozen Wright State students in the adapted physical education\/recreation<\/a> class have partnered with United Rehabilitation Services to provide physical activity sessions for adults and children clients.<\/p>\n \u201cMy students had a good idea of who they were working with and their abilities and then they were able to design activities that were appropriate for their needs,\u201d said Beth Hersman, an associate professor of kinesiology and health<\/a> at Wright State.<\/p>\n \u201cThere is so much excitement because this is something new and different for the people that we serve,\u201d said Dennis Grant, United Rehabilitation Services executive director.<\/p>\n The five-week long program will conclude on June 14, but plans are being made to continue the partnership.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" A dozen Wright State students partnered with United Rehabilitation Services to provide physical activity sessions for adults and children clients.
