on the Dayton Campus during Wright State University&#8217;s annual\u00a0Move-In Day on Thursday, Aug. 24, from\u00a09\u00a0a.m. to\u00a04\u00a0p.m.<\/p>\n<p>During the day, much of the Wright State community turns out to help new students move into 29 residence halls and on-campus apartments.<\/p>\n<p>Move-In Day will include\u00a0110\u00a0golf carts, a fleet of luggage rollers, about\u00a0200\u00a0staff and faculty volunteers and\u00a0300\u00a0upperclassmen volunteers who will wrap up their summer vacations early to help their new peers settle on campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents choose to live on campus because it\u2019s convenient,\u201d said Dan Bertsos,\u00a0director of\u00a0Residence Life and Housing. \u201cThe benefits of living on campus include developing autonomy by managing your own affairs, developing maturity and connecting to the campus better because you\u2019re here all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople generally enjoy the experience and find it to be a good day,\u201d Bertsos said. \u201cIf there are tears, they are happy tears.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This year, another\u00a01,200\u00a0upperclassmen will move into residence halls and apartments on Saturday, Aug. 26.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-7460\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2011\/09\/FW-Move-In-Day-260x204.jpg\" alt=\"Photo of volunteers helping families move freshmen into the dorms.\" width=\"260\" height=\"204\" \/>New residents may want to consider bringing the following items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Extra long twin size sheets (mattress size 36\u2033x80\u2033)<\/li>\n<li>Mattress pad or cover, pillows and comforter\/bedspread<\/li>\n<li>Rugs<\/li>\n<li>Computer<\/li>\n<li>Alarm clock<\/li>\n<li>Desk lamp<\/li>\n<li>Television<\/li>\n<li>Touch-tone phone<\/li>\n<li>Wastebasket<\/li>\n<li>Bathmat<\/li>\n<li>Towels<\/li>\n<li>Toiletries (shampoo, soap, razor, toilet paper, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Seasonal clothing<\/li>\n<li>Hamper<\/li>\n<li>Umbrella<\/li>\n<li>Cooking utensils\/can opener<\/li>\n<li>Plates, cups, silverware<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Some items \u2014 such as hot plates and pets other than fish \u2014 should be left at home.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about acceptable dorm items and the complete Move-In Day schedule and check-in information, future residents should visit the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/residence-life-and-housing\/campus-living\/move-in\">Residence Life and Housing website.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Wright-Patt Credit Union supports Move-In Day by providing
