{"id":47344,"date":"2017-08-22T14:16:30","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T18:16:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=47344"},"modified":"2017-08-22T14:16:30","modified_gmt":"2017-08-22T18:16:30","slug":"sungazing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2017\/08\/22\/sungazing\/","title":{"rendered":"Sungazing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hundreds of Wright State students, faculty, staff and guests stopped by the Quad for a solar eclipse viewing party on Aug. 21.<\/p>\n<p>From 1 to 3 p.m., spectators watched as the moon slowly blocked the sun\u2019s rays from shining down on campus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is once in every century roughly in which we get a transcontinental eclipse that passes from one end of the United States across to the other side,\u201d said Ajani Ross, an instructor in the Department of Physics.<\/p>\n<p>The viewing party was hosted by the <a href=\"https:\/\/science-math.wright.edu\/physics\">Wright State Department of Physics<\/a>.
