{"id":48789,"date":"2017-10-31T14:42:09","date_gmt":"2017-10-31T18:42:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=48789"},"modified":"2017-10-31T14:44:22","modified_gmt":"2017-10-31T18:44:22","slug":"raider-open-house-invites-students-to-visit-wright-state","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2017\/10\/31\/raider-open-house-invites-students-to-visit-wright-state\/","title":{"rendered":"Raider Open House invites students to visit Wright State"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2017\/10\/31\/raider-open-house-invites-students-to-visit-wright-state\/roh-image-1\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-48796\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-48796\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2017\/10\/ROH-IMAGE-1-508x381.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"345\" \/><\/a>Potential Wright State students can talk one-on-one with faculty, take a campus tour and learn about different aspects of the university at the Raider Open House on Saturday, Nov. 4, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Jennifer McCamis, director of admissions, said the event is a good time for students to meet with faculty, learn about admissions and their college and get a college tour.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a good opportunity for students to learn more about Wright State,\u201d McCamis said. \u201cIt gives the faculty a chance to connect with students, and it gives students the opportunity to meet their faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Open house registration and event information is <a href=\"https:\/\/wrightstate.secure.force.com\/EventListing?eventId=701370000001zKb&amp;t=returnDetail\">available on the Wright State website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Any time during the event, prospective students can attend an application workshop and apply to be a Raider.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the morning, Wright State colleges and schools will host information sessions for students who are interested in enrolling. Several colleges will also host tours of their facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the morning, Wright State colleges and schools will host information sessions including the <a href=\"https:\/\/nursing.wright.edu\/\">College of Nursing and Health<\/a>, College of Science and Mathematics, <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/\">College of Liberal Arts<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/education-human-services.wright.edu\/\">College of Education and Human Services<\/a>, and Raj Soin College of Business.<\/p>\n<p>Several colleges will also host tours of their facilities.<\/p>\n<p>Students interested in business can tour the <a href=\"https:\/\/business.wright.edu\/\">Raj Soin College of Business<\/a>, where they will be able to visit the college\u2019s Soin Trading Center, an award-winning stock trading simulator that gives students real-world business experience. They will also visit the Rey Rey Cafe, a student-run coffee shop in Rike Hall.<\/p>\n<p>Students interested in the <a href=\"https:\/\/engineering-computer-science.wright.edu\/\">College of Engineering and Computer Science<\/a> will have opportunities to interact with current students during the college&#8217;s project display session. Students will have projects on display for the high school students and they can answer questions students might have.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/science-math.wright.edu\/\">College of Science and Mathematics<\/a> will host a tour, including stops in laboratories.<\/p>\n<p>The College of Liberal Arts will host a tour of the Creative Arts Center for students interested in dance, fine arts, music, theatre and film.<\/p>\n<p>Prospective students can receive a guided tour of campus at any time during the open house.
