Klykylo, MD, professor and director of the  division of child and adolescent psychiatry at the Wright State  University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. &#8220;But if you feel that  something is going on or if someone you trust \u2014 a teacher or counselor, a  minister or other clergy person, or a coach \u2014 says \u2018I&#8217;ve got a feeling  about your child,&#8217; pay attention.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The signs of mental illness in children vary by age and type of  illness, with some psychiatric disorders appearing even in preschool  years.
