I like to put pink in places you wouldn\u2019t expect to find it, like masculine settings or a bathroom. I also do blue and yellow. You\u2019ll see a lot of blue and yellow in \u2018Panther.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The choice of colors you\u2019ll see in a film is just one of Beachler\u2019s responsibilities. She\u2019s one of three key people \u2014 along with the director and cinematographer \u2014 who are integral to the film. She has a hand in designing the movie\u2019s overall look and transporting theater audiences to the environment that will help advance the story \u2014 whether that\u2019s a musician\u2019s home studio, a BART train in California or a boxing gym.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s forcing the viewer to see things in a certain way,\u201d she says. \u201cProduction design is what everything else bounces off of \u2014 it\u2019s architecture, it\u2019s color palette and it\u2019s everything in the room. I\u2019m the first one hired after the director and first one on the job after the director.
