(Photos by Erin Pence)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The stage is set for Wright State University\u2019s College of Liberal Arts annual<b>\u00a0ArtsGala<\/b>, an event to raise money for scholarships in visual arts, film, theater, music and dance.<\/p>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"p\">The annual Wright State University ArtsGala has raised\u00a0<b>more than $2.5 million<\/b>\u00a0for arts scholarships during its 18-year history, with nearly $200,000 at last year\u2019s gala.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"p\">\u201cTo see the investment in Creative Arts Center, then to see the community support for ArtsGala &#8212; it means a lot to the students, for their pride and validation in who they are,\u201d Jennie Buckwalter, Assistant Dean of WSU\u2019s College of Liberal Arts said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">The gala will feature student performances in\u00a0<b>theatre, dance, motion pictures, music and visual arts<\/b>. Regarded as one of Dayton\u2019s premier arts events, the black-tie-optional ArtsGala draws over\u00a0<b>800 patrons<\/b>each year.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">\u201cArtsGala is my favorite night of the year. The talent of our students is astonishing, the Creative Arts Center glows, the food and drink are spectacular, and our guests have a memorable time,\u201d said Linda Caron, dean of the College of Liberal Arts in a press release sent to this news organization. \u201cBut the best part is that all proceeds go toward scholarships for our deserving fine and performing arts students.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p><b>Features this year include:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Wind Symphony, featuring Stars and Stripes Forever<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Selections from The Mystery of Edwin Drood<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Live artistic creation by student artists<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Student film festival<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Chamber Orchestra performance<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Opera performances<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Dance performances<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Collegiate Chorale performance<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Six themed dining rooms<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Cigar and college basketball tent<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Top-quality craft beer, bourbon and tequila tastings<\/p>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p><b>A silent auction, featuring mobile bidding this year, will offer over 100 items, including:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Artwork by Wright State faculty, students, alumni and local artists<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Wide variety of wines<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p>\u2022 Assortment of luxury gift baskets, gift cards and dining certificates<\/p>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"p\">The students are of course the primary focus, however, the food isn\u2019t something to overlook. From boursin-stuffed endives to king crab and shrimp ceviche to vanilla bean cheesecakes, the dining rooms will be full of Italian, Mexican, American, British and Japanese taste sensations.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/artsgala\/dining-rooms\" target=\"_self\">You can see the full menu here<\/a>. There will also be hand-selected craft beer, bourbon, tequila and sparkling wine presented by Heidelberg.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"p\"><b>&gt;&gt;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dayton.com\/news\/wright-state-awarded-million-for-scholarships-undergrad-research\/A4zs4ipBAONlzN9DrIbOZI\/new.html\" target=\"_self\">WSU lands $1 million grant for scholarships and undergrad research<\/a><\/b><br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"p\">\u201cThe scholarship support is transformative for our students &#8212; they\u2019re training and practicing in addition to their academics. They\u2019re often in the Creative Arts center the entire day,\u201d said Buckwalter. \u201cThe scholarship support is critical to help them stay on track to graduate and succeed after graduation. We want them to benefit as much as they can while they\u2019re a student and not be burdened by debt after graduation &#8212; we want them to be successful.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"text\">\n<p class=\"p\">ArtsGala\u2019s presenting sponsors are Barnes &amp; Noble at Wright State and Morris Furniture Company.
