{"id":52303,"date":"2018-06-01T08:42:23","date_gmt":"2018-06-01T12:42:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=52303"},"modified":"2022-09-26T10:35:45","modified_gmt":"2022-09-26T14:35:45","slug":"shoot-from-the-hip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2018\/06\/01\/shoot-from-the-hip\/","title":{"rendered":"Shoot from the hip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When he was a boy, his artistic-minded parents would take him to the Dayton Art Institute, where he was dazzled by the paintings, sculptures and photos of world-class artists.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Matthew Helton, a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/art-and-art-history\">fine art and photography student<\/a>\u00a0at Wright State University, has his work displayed in the same space as the artists he looked up to.<\/p>\n<p>Helton and two other Wright State students \u2014 Nanci Payne and Nancy Shuler \u2014 have their artwork displayed at the museum as part of the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.daytonartinstitute.org\/learn\/awardsfellowship\/yeck\">Yeck College Artist Fellowship<\/a>.
