Wright State, which closed the season at 36-19, posted its most wins in a year since going 36-22 in 2007. Prior to that, the Raiders had not won more than 36 since recording 39 wins in 1994.<\/p><\/div>\n

The Wright State baseball team saw its season come to an end Saturday afternoon as Arizona broke the game open with six runs in the fourth and went on to a 13-0 decision at the NCAA Regionals in College Station, Texas.<\/p>\n

After the Wildcats scored an unearned run in the first, WSU posed a threat to tie the game in the second as Zach Tanner singled up the middle with one out and, one out later, Justin Kopale had a hit to right center to put runners on the corners.\u00a0 Kyle Mossbarger, however, popped out to end the inning.<\/p>\n

Arizona (37-20) then used five hits and took advantage of two Raider errors to score six in the fourth and take a 7-0 lead.\u00a0 The Wildcats later added three runs in both the sixth and seventh to round out the scoring.<\/p>\n

Sam Picchiotti led the Raider offense with two hits.\u00a0 Jake Hibberd, in his chase for the school record for hits in a season, went 0 for 4 to finish one short of Chris Tuttle\u2019s 97 in 2001.<\/p>\n
