The Wright State Human Resources Management Club<\/a> was recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management with a merit award, highlighting the achievements and excellence of the student chapter.<\/p>\n

By achieving the merit award, the Wright State chapter distinguishes itself as an outstanding student organization, dedicated to serving the needs of its members and the advancement of the human resources profession.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t be more proud of their hard work and commitment to the student chapter,\u201d said Kim Lukaszewski, faculty advisor for the club and associate professor of management<\/a>. \u201cThese students are so engaged to the HR field and focused on their future careers in HR. I am very fortunate to be the advisor and work with such great students.\u201d<\/p>\n

The student board of the HR club organizes events throughout the year to encourage students studying human resource management to learn more about their major and further careers. These events cover such topics as fundamentals of resumes, cover letters and interviews and job shadowing . The club also held a networking event at which members of the Miami Valley Human Resource Association visited Wright State to network with HR seniors.<\/p>\n

The Society for Human Resources student program includes over 450 affiliated student chapters and more than 20,000 student members, as well as other branches, such as the Miami Valley Human Resource Association. The Society for Human Resources is the largest HR professional organization with 300,000 members in more than 165 countries.<\/p>\n

The student chapter merit award program was created to encourage student chapters to pursue excellence in student chapter requirements, chapter operations, chapter programming and in the professional development of members.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we move together forward, young professionals like these being honored at distinguished student chapters play a vital role in SHRM\u2019s success,\u201d said Johnny C. Taylor, Jr., president and chief executive officer of the Society for Human Resources. \u201cI\u2019m especially honored to thank this year\u2019s award winners because they offer excellent evidence that SHRM\u2019s future is indeed in good hands.\u201d<\/p>\n
