Thomas Sav, Ph.D., professor of economics, has distinguished himself as the key force behind undergraduate curriculum development at Wright State and providing leadership in facilitating the university\u2019s conversion to a semester-based calendar.<\/p>\n<p>Highlights from his long list of accomplishments in university service include 16 years as chair of the University Undergraduate and Academic Policy Committee (UCAPC), 11 years as a member of the University Wright Across the Curriculum Committee, six years as a member of the University General Education Implementation Committee, and 12 years as a member of the University Technology Committee.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTom takes his service activities very seriously and clearly understands the importance of curriculum to Wright State University\u2019s ability to satisfy its mission,\u201d said Thomas Traynor, chair of the Department of Economics. \u201cThe energy he brings to his service activities is apparent to all who work with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Sav has served as parliamentarian for the Faculty Senate since 1999.<\/p>\n<p>Sav\u2019s work on the UCAPC has won widespread praise, in particular his work on the UCAPC\u2019s website. \u201cHis experience, organization, and hard work has built a foundation for curricular development at Wright State that will continue to serve the university well into the future,\u201d said Bill Rickert, assistant provost.<\/p>\n<p>Sav\u2019s service is in addition to his teaching workload, for which he has been named outstanding teacher six times, funded research projects, and a long list of scholarly publications.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>G.
