Cindy Riley, administrative specialist for the president of the faculty, quietly serves in the background, cheering on Wright State through the hard work and dedication she displays every day.<\/p>\n

As a founding member of the annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Event, Riley was instrumental in taking the event from an idea to a reality. She now volunteers as the chair of the event’s organizing committee, giving much of her time and talent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m confident, thanks to Cynthia, the event has a strong foundation and will continue to be a great event,\u201d said Steve Berberich, associate provost.<\/p>\n

During the preparations for the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Event and basketball game, Riley pours great enthusiasm and long hours into her work.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is no person more responsible for the success of the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Event than Cindy,\u201d said Dan Krane, professor of biological sciences. \u201cCindy has done more to help morale at Wright State than anyone I know.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Faculty and Staff Appreciation event has since tripled in size over the years.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer attention to detail is impeccable. Cindy is always the first one to arrive and the last one to leave, and she does it with a smile on her face the entire time,\u201d said Shannon Norton, assistant to the associate provost. \u201cI have often heard her say, \u2018you should see the joy and awe in the kids\u2019 faces when they see the games, athletes and cheerleaders.\u2019 This is why she does what she does \u2014 to bring joy to others.”<\/p>\n
