He responds to faculty emails during the week and on weekends, is calm during times of stress and is a dependable worker who displays patience when helping others.<\/p>\n

He is Chris Roberts, associate director of the Center for Teaching and Learning<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Faculty and staff members appreciate Roberts for his positive attitude, respectful interactions, strong work ethic and leadership.<\/p>\n

Roberts\u00a0has chaired committees, mentored others, coordinated lunch meetings with SCALE-UP faculty, delivered technology tools training to Women in STEM, organized a video testimonial for Student Success Center classrooms and worked with the Office of the Provost and Computing and Telecommunications Services to revise online course evaluations. Roberts is currently implementing new policies for the Center for Teaching and Learning.<\/p>\n

Roberts created an Active Learning development program for faculty who are teaching in newly designed active learning classrooms. The program helps faculty to better understand new pedagogies and technical skills. In a survey completed by faculty, 96 percent of respondents said they felt prepared to teach in the new classrooms after completing the program.<\/p>\n

People who work with Roberts say they appreciate how he provides help without making them feel insecure.<\/p>\n
