The Wright State women’s basketball<\/a> team claimed its first outright regular season title in the Horizon League with a 73\u201364 win against Oakland on March 2.<\/p>\n

The Raiders are the top overall seed in the 2019 Little Caesars Horizon League Basketball Championship and will host eighth-seeded Oakland on Tuesday, March 5, at 5:30 p.m. at the Wright State Nutter Center. The tournament begins March 5\u20136 at the top seeds’ home arenas and will culminate with the semifinal and championship games on March 11\u201312 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.<\/p>\n

Wright State finished the regular season 24\u20136 overall and 16\u20132 in the Horizon League, a school record for league wins.<\/p>\n

Senior guard Symone Simmons became the first player in Wright State history, male or female, to amass over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. She is the 22nd player in university history to score at least 1,000 points and the first ever to reach 1,000 career rebounds.<\/p>\n

Men’s basketball team earns No. 1 seed in Horizon League tournament<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Wright State men’s basketball team<\/a> and Northern Kentucky claimed a share of the Horizon League regular season title. It’s the Raiders’ first regular season title since the 2006-07 season.<\/p>\n

The Raiders are now 19\u201312 overall and 13\u20135 in the Horizon League.<\/p>\n

The Raiders earned the No. 1 seed in the league tournament and will host eighth-seeded IUPUI March 5 at 8 p.m. in the Wright State Nutter Center.<\/p>\n
