On May 8, Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) partnered with Wright State University to offer a job fair for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n
OOD provides individuals with disabilities, services and support necessary to help them attain and maintain employment. Services are available to individuals with physical, intellectual, mental health or sensory disabilities. Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities provides services in all 88 counties in Ohio.<\/p>\n
Almost 200 job seekers had the opportunity to engage with 39 employers representing financial institutions, manufacturing, logistics and food service.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019re upbeat and good people,\u201d said Todd Barhorst, owner of four Super Subby\u2019s restaurants in the Dayton area. \u201cThose are the characteristics that we are looking for.\u201d<\/p>\n
The OOD staff actively provided hands-on assistance to job seekers and employers during the job fair.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a disabled individual I haven\u2019t really had a lot of traction with employers when I go to visit them within their stores,\u201d said Renaissance Craver, a social work major at Wright State. \u201cComing here is really an opportunity for me to meet a lot of employers at once.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
