{"id":69450,"date":"2019-06-10T16:10:53","date_gmt":"2019-06-10T20:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=69450"},"modified":"2019-06-10T16:10:53","modified_gmt":"2019-06-10T20:10:53","slug":"business-savvy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2019\/06\/10\/business-savvy\/","title":{"rendered":"Business savvy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sixteen high school juniors and seniors learned what it\u2019s like to work in the field of business during a residential camp hosted by Wright State University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/business.wright.edu\/\">Raj Soin College of Business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The five-day camp provided an experiential learning environment that helped students explore their interests in business.<\/p>\n<p>Students learned skills in economics, accounting, marketing, finance, management, information systems management and entrepreneurship. Students also participated in campus activities and networked with students from other schools across the region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m definitely interested in business,\u201d said Madison Stephenson, a senior at Shawnee High School in Springfield. \u201cI\u2019m also interested in coming to Wright State so I wanted to get a feel of the campus.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Students work closely with the college\u2019s faculty, staff, students and local business executives. \u201cWe get to share some of the experiences that we\u2019ve had at Scene75 with the students so they can learn from maybe from some of our mistakes,\u201d said Jonah Sandler, CEO of Scene 75 Entertainment Centers, this year\u2019s host company. \u201cWe get great ideas and great feedback from the student groups.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Students are divided into teams, provided a Wright State business student as a coach and work on real-world business challenges.
