Several Wright State students and staff took part in the first Try Kayaking event of the summer at Eastwood MetroPark.<\/p>\n
The Outdoor Resource Center provided kayaks, paddles, life jackets, free transportations and instruction for participants. The two-hour excursion was a great opportunity for beginners to learn to paddle or practice their kayaking skills.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m trying to get a little more integrated with the university,\u201d said Adam Cary, a freshman who plans to major in mechanical engineering. \u201cIt\u2019s fun to come out and do this sort of thing and see what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s especially important for us to let students know that college isn\u2019t just about classes,\u201d said Erin Sherrets, outdoor recreation program manager. \u201cIt\u2019s a great way to meet new people and try something new.\u201d<\/p>\n
