Students at The Goddard School in Beavercreek got a rare chance to shoot, dribble and pass with the Wright State University women\u2019s basketball team.<\/p>\n
The team visited the school on July 11 for the second year in a row, going through basketball drills and even enjoying popsicles with the students. The players interacted with dozens of children.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe love coming out and working with kids,\u201d said Kim Demmings, director of operations for women\u2019s basketball.<\/p>\n
Thomas Baker, the assistant education director at The Goddard School, said the players are great role models for the students. \u201cIt\u2019s also important for them to see that women are sports figures too and it\u2019s not just the boys or the men that are playing sports, but you know, girls can do everything too,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
