A Wright State theatre grad is Broadway bound.<\/p>\n

Nick Verina will reprise his role as \u201cYoung Ben\u201d in Stephen Sondheim\u2019s celebrated musical Follies<\/em> when the critically acclaimed Kennedy Center production transfers to the Great White Way.<\/p>\n

The show, currently in previews, stars Broadway legends Bernadette Peters and Elaine Paige. Regular performances are set to begin Sept. 12 at the Marquis Theatre.<\/p>\n

A two-disc cast recording, featuring Verina, will be released later this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s an amazing experience to realize a dream,\u201d said Verina. \u201cI\u2019m so grateful and so lucky to not only be performing on Broadway, but to be a part of this iconic piece of theatre.\u201d<\/p>\n

Verina graduated from Wright State in 2005 with a B.F.A. in acting. Since then, he has performed in theaters across the country, including the New York production of Forbidden Broadway: SVU<\/em> and the national tour of Grease<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In May, Verina sang the national anthem at a major league baseball game in Washington, D.C.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy training at Wright State was invaluable,\u201d said Verina. \u201cThe program itself taught me lessons in dedication and practice.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m very proud of my education and carry with me fond memories of my time at Wright State as I continue my career,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
