{"id":75818,"date":"2019-10-14T13:39:08","date_gmt":"2019-10-14T17:39:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=75818"},"modified":"2022-09-29T11:36:45","modified_gmt":"2022-09-29T15:36:45","slug":"hours-to-be-performed-by-wright-state-theatre-studies-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2019\/10\/14\/hours-to-be-performed-by-wright-state-theatre-studies-students\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;(H)OURS&#8217; to be performed by Wright State theatre studies students"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_75826\" style=\"width: 470px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2019\/10\/14\/hours-to-be-performed-by-wright-state-theatre-studies-students\/wright-state-theatre-hours\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-75826\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-75826\" class=\"size-large wp-image-75826\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2019\/10\/Wright-State-theatre-HOURS-508x282.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"460\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-75826\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Wright State theatre studies students will perform &#8220;(H)OURS&#8221; Oct. 18\u201320 in the Herbst Theatre.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Time is the theme of &#8220;(H)OURS,&#8221; a mix of music, poetry and the spoken work to be performed by students in the <a href=\"https:\/\/liberal-arts.wright.edu\/theatre-dance-and-motion-pictures\/bachelor-of-arts-in-theatre-studies\">Wright State Theatre Studies Program<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The production is directed by special guest artist Sierra Leone, a local poet, producer, arts educator, activist and entrepreneur who has written and performed commissioned work for many local and national organizations.<\/p>\n<p>Performances of &#8220;(H)OURS&#8221; are Friday, Oct. 18, and Saturday, Oct. 19, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 20, at 2 p.m. in the Herbst Theatre of the Creative Arts Center. The performances are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>The inspirational materials for &#8220;(H)OURS&#8221; was assembled by Leone, who has been described as being able to captivate audiences with her unassuming ingenuity, profound insight and comedic sense of &#8220;knowing.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A Governor\u2019s Award winner, Leone is a writer and the president and artistic director of the OFP Theatre Company. For more than a decade, she has used her vision of of creative urban arts as an artistic medium to bring communities together across racial, cultural, ideological and economic divides.<\/p>\n<p>Leone works with youth arts organizations, schools and community organizations through her company\u2019s educational arm, Signature Educational Solutions.
