Wright State University Theatre<\/a> continues its season in the Festival Playhouse with the regional premiere of “The Wolves” Feb. 6\u201316.<\/p>\n

Performances are Feb. 6, 12 and 13 at 7 p.m..; Feb. 7, 8, 14 and 15 at 8 p.m.; and Feb. 9, 15 and 16 at 2 p.m. in the Festival Playhouse in the Creative Arts Center. Tickets are $25 for adults, $23 for seniors and $15 for students. For tickets and theatre information, call the Box Office at 937-775-2500 or purchase single tickets online<\/a>.<\/p>\n

By Sarah DeLappe, “The Wolves” premiered Off-Broadway in 2016 and was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.<\/p>\n

The drama tells the story of the Wolves, a teenage girls’ soccer team, and how disparate personalities bond to form a team. As they warm up for a succession of games, the teammates talk nonstop about life and the politics of their personal lives as well as the larger world. They gossip about war, menstrual products, genocide, sports, pop culture and their relationships and bond over a bag of orange slices and personal traumas.<\/p>\n

To prepare for the production, the cast trained with the Wright State soccer staff.<\/p>\n

In the Wright State production, Goalie is portrayed by Mady McCabe, with Megan Ledford (#02 \u2013 Defense), Lauren Eifert (#07 \u2013 Striker), Julie Deye (#08 \u2013 Defense), Margo Russ (#11 \u2013 Midfield), Jessica Greenwald (#13 \u2013 Midfield), Bridget Lorenz (#14 \u2013 Midfield), Tina Hohman (#25 \u2013 Defense), Caroline Utz (#46 \u2013 Bench) and Sophie Kirk (Soccer Mom).<\/p>\n

“The Wolves” is directed by Marya Spring-Cordes (“The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” “Grapes of Wrath,” “Grand Hotel”). Sets are designed by Carleigh Siebert, lighting by Matthew P. Benjamin and Gabe Reichert, costumes by Victoria Gifford and sound by James Dunlap.<\/p>\n

“The Wolves” is part of \u201cRISING: Women in American Culture since Suffrage<\/a>,\u201d a series of arts and research events organized by Wright State’s CELIA (Collaborative Education, Leadership, and Innovation in the Arts) to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n
