{"id":84430,"date":"2020-03-26T08:22:58","date_gmt":"2020-03-26T12:22:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=84430"},"modified":"2024-01-04T14:49:51","modified_gmt":"2024-01-04T19:49:51","slug":"ddn-wright-state-starts-coronavirus-relief-campaign-to-help-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2020\/03\/26\/ddn-wright-state-starts-coronavirus-relief-campaign-to-help-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Dayton Daily News: Wright State starts coronavirus relief campaign to help students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>Excerpt<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-84246\" src=\"http:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/files\/2020\/03\/Student-Emergency-Relief-Fund-260x146.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"260\" height=\"146\" \/>To help students facing financial, health and safety issues during the coronavirus outbreak, Wright State University started the Student Emergency Relief Campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Created through the Wright State University Foundation, the campaign aims to help students struggling with food, housing, lost wages, mental health, finances and education.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">The campaign will support the following funds:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">\u2022\u00a0<b>Deedrick Student Support Fund:<\/b>\u00a0This fund is through the Office of Student Affairs and is the area with the greatest need. The fund helps with emergency needs that can impact their success as a student. The scope of the fund is being expanded in response to coronavirus and will help students with food, toiletries, supplies, funding for necessary medications and educational-related money for travel for students who may need to go home.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">\u2022\u00a0<b>Counseling and Wellness Services Fund:<\/b>\u00a0This fund goes toward counseling programs, helps purchase supplies and technology and helps other initiatives to support struggling students.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\"><b>\u2022 Raider Food Pantry Fund:<\/b>\u00a0This fund helps purchase food items and groceries for students in need. Despite the university\u2019s closure, the pantry is still open with limited hours to help the community.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\"><b>\u2022 Remote Learning Support Fund:<\/b>\u00a0This fund supports educational-related expenses, such as equipment and software costs. With the university moving to remote classes during the pandemic, this fund has become a priority.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\"><b>\u2022 Student Employment Relief Fund:<\/b>\u00a0This fund helps student employees whose jobs were effected by the move to remote learning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">To donate,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.givecampus.com\/schools\/WrightStateUniversity\/wsu-student-emergency-relief-campaign\/?a=3628509#updates\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p\">For every 100 donors who give at least $10, the Wright State University Foundation will donate $1,000.
