<\/a>Kris Sproles, video content producer in the Office of Communications<\/p><\/div>\n
Sproles won a first-place award in the general news category for \u201cFresh Food<\/a>,\u201d which featured a distribution event by The Foodbank at the Wright State University Nutter Center.<\/p>\n He also received a first-place award for in-depth news for \u201cSmashing Pumpkins<\/a>,\u201d which highlighted community service efforts by the Wright State chapter of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity.<\/p>\n Sproles received a second-place award in the 48-hour news feature category \u201cMarket Force<\/a>,\u201d a feature on Wright State alumnus Nick Moshos, who bought Dot\u2019s Market after working at the local grocery store for 11 years.<\/p>\n \u201cBase Bandit<\/a>,\u201d Sproles’ feature story on former Wright State outfielder J.D. Orr, received a third-place award in the sports feature category.<\/p>\n Sproles collaborated with Jim Hannah, assistant director of public relations, on “Ring Leader,” \u201cMarket Force\u201d and “Base Bandit.”<\/p>\n This is the second time Sproles was named the association’s Television Photographer of the Year. He was previously honored in 2016 for his work at WDTN-TV in Dayton.<\/p>\n Since he joined the Office of Communications, Sproles has regularly received awards in Ohio\u2019s Best Journalism Contest, an annual competition sponsored by the Ohio chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kris Sproles, video content producer at Wright State, was named the 2019 Television Photographer of the Year by the Ohio News Photographers Association.
