In order to bring that slogan to life, education is key. That\u2019s why the Dayton Council on World Affairs (DCOWA) and Wright State University are coming together to sponsor a talk by Shyaka Anastase, Ph.D.<\/p>\n<p>Anastase is the executive secretary of the Rwandan Governance Advisory Council, which provides scientifically based advice on ethical post-genocide policies to Rwanda\u2019s government and civil society leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The talk is titled \u201cAfter Genocide: Reconciliation and Rebuilding Peace in Rwanda.\u201d Anastase will discuss the reconciliation process under way in Rwanda following the 1994 genocide and also the feasibility of an East African Political Federation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRwanda is a large part of our history in terms of understanding genocide and making sure these kinds of things don\u2019t happen again,\u201d said Michelle Streeter-Ferarri, director of the University Center for International Education. According to Streeter-Ferrari Dayton, has one of the largest populations of Rwandan refugees in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Anastase will speak on Tuesday, Nov. 8, in 076 University Hall.
