Roger Owens has been a painter at Wright State for over two decades, and his latest campus project has been one of his biggest jobs. \u201cIt\u2019s nice to see change,\u201d said Owens.<\/p>\n
Owens and fellow university painters Jimmy Storm and Loren Rice have worked since February to update the color footprint in the Student Union.<\/p>\n
Students and visitors will soon be greeted with colors like Derbyshire, Honeycomb and Parakeet while most of the purple paint and bright blue colors have been removed.<\/p>\n
Numerous walls and ceilings have already been cut and rolled, including the Union Market, the Atrium, Campus Rec and the front entrance lobby.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you come into the union, you want to feel the Wright State Raider experience right away,\u201d said Thomas Conley, a supervisor in Facilities Operations.<\/p>\n
Crews plan to work on the Endeavour Room, the hallway near WWSU, the student radio station, and handrails throughout the Student Union.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a time-consuming project. It\u2019s nice at the end of the day to step back and look at what you\u2019ve done,\u201d said Owens. \u201cIt makes the place look nice for everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
