{"id":98586,"date":"2020-11-25T14:03:23","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T19:03:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/?p=98586"},"modified":"2020-11-25T14:03:23","modified_gmt":"2020-11-25T19:03:23","slug":"raiders-serving-raiders","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/webapp2.wright.edu\/web1\/newsroom\/2020\/11\/25\/raiders-serving-raiders\/","title":{"rendered":"Raiders serving Raiders"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Wright State University students, staff, faculty and alumni who didn\u2019t go home for Thanksgiving enjoyed a holiday meal thanks to the ninth annual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wright.edu\/event\/raidersgiving\">Raidersgiving<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 525 free meals were picked up on Wednesday, Nov. 25, between noon and 2 p.m. in the Student Union\u2019s Apollo Room.<\/p>\n<p>Patrons were greeted and served by over a dozen volunteers. They had a choice between a traditional Thanksgiving meal, a vegan meal, gluten-free meal or Halal meal.<\/p>\n<p>Although the university couldn\u2019t hold a traditional in-person Thanksgiving gathering, the Raidersgiving committee found an alternative solution to provide meals that Wright State community members can enjoy for the holiday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an opportunity to serve our campus community and make sure that everyone has a Thanksgiving meal,\u201d said Chris Hogan, Director of Community Standards and Conduct and Raidersgiving committee member.<\/p>\n<p>Raidersgiving was sponsored by Eric Bigler \u201983, \u201987, the Wright State University Foundation, Wright State University Hospitality Service\u2013Chartwells and the Raider Food Pantry.
