Jim Brown named executive director of Wright State University’s Nutter Center

James “Jim” W. Brown II, CFE, has been named executive director of Wright State University’s Nutter Center. Brown, 45, who has served as associate director of the center for the past 11 years, has been a facility manager in the entertainment industry for the past 17 years.

Opened in 1990, Wright State University’s Nutter Center is an entertainment complex that hosts sporting events, concerts, lectures, commencements and a variety of other events. With seating for about 12,000 people, the center has been consistently ranked as one of the best entertainment complexes.

Brown said he plans to maintain the center as a place that offers quality diverse entertainment.

“And I want to see that Wright State University’s Nutter Center continues to be a shining beacon for Wright State,” Brown said. “I want to be an ambassador for Wright State.”

Brown graduated from Bowling Green State University in sports management and is also a graduate of the Public Assembly Facility Management School. He is a member of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), has served on the board and various committees and is currently the assistant regional director for Region II and chair of the Universities Committee.

Brown achieved Certified Facility Executive (CFE) status in 2009, which is the highest level of certification within the professional industry.

Brown has served on various community boards and committees, including the Dayton Area Diabetes Association, the Beavercreek Chamber of Commerce, the Greene County American Heartwalk, the Greene County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Miami Valley Military Affairs Association.

He and his wife, Terrie, have a son, Caleb. They reside in Beavercreek.
