An article titled “TEAhM: Technologies for enhancing access to health maangement: A pilot study of community-based telehealth,” by Perla Ilagan, Mary Beth Kaylor, and Diane Mehling, nursing and health,  was accepted for publication in the Journal of Telemedicine and e-Health. The group’s poster, “TEAhM: Technologicies for advancing access to health maangement,” was accepted for presentation at the Gerontological Society of America’s 64th Annual Scientific Meeting to be held in Boston, MA, on 11/18-22/11. Helene Resnick and M. Alwan were co-authors of both.

Perla Ilagan, nursing and health, will present her paper, “Perceptions of Filipino men and women on intimate partner violence,” at the 2012 Midwest Nursing Research Society Conference to be held in Dearborn, MI, on 4/12-15/12.

Donna Curry, nursing and health, will present her paper, “Global leadership and development of the International Family Nursing Association,” at the 41st Biennial Convention of STTI to be held in Grapevine, TX, on 10/29-11/2/11.

Tawna Cooksey-James, nursing and health, will present “Teaching effectively using learner-centered teaching and interactive video distance learning (IVDL) with Registered Nurses in a baccalaureate program” at the Ohio Teaching and Learning Conference at the Dayton Convention Center on 10/27-28/11. She will also present her poster, “Raising political awareness and action for nursing and health with RN-to-BSN students,” at the Ohio Nurses Association’s 2011 Convention to be held in Columbus, OH, on 10/14/11.

Kathy Keister and Anne Russell, nursing and health, were accepted to attend the Grants Technical Assistance Workshop: The 2011 Workshop for Minority and Emerging Scientists and Students Seeking Careers in Aging Research. The workshop is presented by the National Institute on Aging and will be held in Boston, MA, on 11/17-18/11.

A poster titled “The relationship between nursing student learning styles and performance on standardized exams” by Candy Cherrington, Cindra Holland, Deb Arms, and Ann Bowling, nursing and health, was selected for presentation at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s Baccalaureate Conference to be held in St. Louis, MO, on 11/17-19/11.
