“Think Pink Week” on campus to raise awareness of breast cancer

A yogurt-eating contest, whipped cream pie-throwing and other events connected to Think Pink Week will spring up on Wright State’s quad beginning Monday, Oct. 24, in an effort to publicize the fight against breast cancer.

The weeklong series of events is being sponsored by Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.

“We just want to raise awareness about breast cancer,” said Meagan Rohrbach, a senior from Celina and member of Zeta Tau Alpha.

In addition to publicizing the battle against breast cancer, the events are designed to raise money to fund breast cancer research and awareness efforts, through the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation.

Monday, Oct. 24: Bake sale 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 25: Kiss Away Cancer. Students pay to use individual sample lipsticks, kiss a poster board and sign their names. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, pink feather weave clip-ins for the hair will be on sale.

Wednesday, Oct. 26: Coupons that offer a 20 percent discount for food at Buffalo Wild Wings in Beavercreek are available. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, pink feather weave clip-ins for the hair will be on sale.

Thursday, Oct. 27: Pie and Eta Pie. Students pay to throw a whipped-cream pie at a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 28: Yogurt-eating contest. Noon.

Saturday, Oct. 29: Think Pink men’s soccer game, 7 p.m., Alumni Field. Tickets are $5. Purchase them at the gate or throughout the week from Zeta Tau Alpha. All proceeds benefit the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation.
