Donna Miles Curry, nursing and health, was selected as the recipient of the 2011 Excellence in Education Award presented by the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses. She will receive her award in Columbus, OH, on 11/3/11

Detrice Barry, nursing and health, was selected for membership in the Network of Minority Research Investigators of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Disorders (NIDDK) and National Institutes of Health (NIH). She will present a poster on “Using technology for bleeding disorder education: High-fidelity human patient simulators and the remote presence robot” at the National Hemophilia Foundation Annual Meeting to be held in Chicago, IL, on 11/9-13/11.

Jan Belcher, nursing and health, was appointed by the Council on Graduate Education for Administration in Nursing (CGEAN) Board to a national task force; the task force did descriptive work on the state of the art of MS and DNP graduate practicums in nursing administration. The group presented a poster, “Graduate practicums in nursing administration programs: Current approaches and future implications,” at the International Nursing Administration Research conference held in Denver, CO, on October 12, 2011.

Kris Scordo, nursing and health, had her manuscript, “Statin intolerance: Management strategies,” accepted for publication in the American Journal of Nurse Practitioners.

Kris Scordo, nursing and health, in collaboration with Ruth Kleinpell (Rush University Medical Center), Randy Hudspeth (Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi), and Kathy Magdic (University of Pittsburgh) had their article, “Defining NP scope of practice and associated regulations: Focus on acute care” accepted for publication in the Journal of the American Academy of Nursing.
