COLDWATER — One by one, the former Wright State teammates were shaken to the core by the aftershock of that collapsing stage at the Indiana State Fair two Saturday nights ago.

Mandy Gels — who lives in Coldwater where she’s a web page designer and coaches the junior varsity volleyball team at nearby St. Henry High School — got a numbing, morning-after text about the deadly incident from former teammate Kelly Skaro, who lives in Minnesota.
