Wright State’s junior and senior dance majors will present their world premiere works June 1–2. This year’s concert, Into the Unknown, will feature new choreography by 16 students.
The show’s title is meant to suggest the metamorphosis that occurs when taking a leap of faith into the future, despite fear or expectations. The concept embodies a feeling that unifies all graduating seniors: excitement mixed with anticipation, reflection combined with uncertainty. Each student will express this sentiment in his or her own individual artistry and style.
Into the Unknown features choreography by Wright State University Dance Ensemble seniors Amelia Dietz, Taiesha Green, Alana Kirzner, Amy Murphy, Nikki Nathan, Alissa Ore, Chelsea Riegle, Amanda Sortman and Sarah Wildman and juniors Chelle Cartee, Kristen Henry, Jessica Horton, Hannah Kleimeyer, Amber Rutledge, Jesseca Smalt and Nikki Wetter.
The concert will take the stage in the Festival Playhouse of the Wright State Creative Arts Center on June 1 at 8 p.m. and June 2 at 2 p.m. A suggested $3 donation is recommended to support future student productions.
