With a “passion for shaping the future of manufacturing,” Wright State University will create a center to expose students to the industry and employers locally and around the world.
The university on Tuesday announced its new Center for Manufacturing Sciences to prepare students for careers and teach students “everything from bioengineering to laser micromachining.” The effort will be led by Larry R. Dosser, founder and chairman emeritus of Mound Laser & Photonics Center, Inc., a local company with $5 million to $6 million in annual sales.
“We need to invite more young and talented people into manufacturing and share with them the opportunity to be part of the emerging manufacturing renaissance that will see U.S. manufacturing lead the world into and through the 21st century,” Dosser said in a news release.
