Grant Basile, Skyelar Potter and Malachi Smith have only been on Wright State University’s campus for a few weeks, but they are quickly finding their footing.
“All of the seniors and upperclassmen have taken us under their wing and shown us what to do,” said Basile, a forward from Wisconsin.
“We’re really getting them ready for their basketball journey and this season because we are really going to need them,” added Mark Hughes, a senior guard.
The men’s basketball team has been working out four days a week and lifting weights to prepare for the 2018-2019 season.
“I enjoy the workouts. They push me to be better every day,” said Potter, a guard from Kentucky. “I’m here to make an impact on the team this year.”
“I think Wright State is special. It’s like a family,” said Malachi Smith, a guard from Illinois.
The summer workouts conclude July 26. The men’s basketball season starts with an exhibition game on Oct. 31 against Notre Dame College, and the regular season tips off on Nov. 7 against Western Carolina.
