Wright State University alumni had a chance to give back to the community during the Wright State Alumni Association’s fourth annual Alumni Service Day on Nov. 6.
“It’s a great opportunity to give back to the community that gives back to our students,” 1986 graduate Karen Hunt said while stuffing envelopes for an upcoming fundraiser for Hannah’s Treasure Chest.
Volunteers performed community service at four local nonprofit organizations: United Rehabilitations Services, Hannah’s Treasure Chest, SICSA and the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
“Wright State has a real giving attitude, and I try to volunteer as much as I can,” said Mary Murphy, a 1989 graduate who also volunteered at Hannah’s Treasure Chest.
Alumni Service Day concluded with an appreciation lunch for volunteers at the Dublin Pub in downtown Dayton.
